Green Moong Dal

Oil

2 tbsp

Cumin

Onion

½ medium size

Tomato

1 medium size

Garlic

4 cloves

Turmeric Powder

1 tsp

Chili Powder

1 tbsp

Cumin Powder

1 tbsp

Coriander Powder

1 tbsp

Green Moong Dal

1 cup

Coriander leaves

2 tbsp

Salt

To taste



Instructions:
  1. In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add cumin seeds.
  2. Then add garlic and onion and sauté till onions turns to golden color
  3. Then add Turmeric powder, Chili powder, Cumin powder, Coriander powder and salt.
  4. Sauté till these masala turns aromatic.
  5. Then add tomatoes and cook till tomatoes turns soft and mushy.
  6. Wash green moong dal and add it to the cooker.
  7. Pour 1 to 1½ cup of water and close the cooker.
  8. Leave for 6 to 8 whistles.
  9. Allow it to cool and then garnish with the chopped coriander leaves.
  10. Green moong dal is ready.
