Ingredients | Quantity |
Oil | 2 tbsp |
Cumin | 1 tbsp |
Onion | ½ medium size |
Tomato | 1 medium size |
Garlic | 4 cloves |
Turmeric Powder | 1 tsp |
Chili Powder | 1 tbsp |
Cumin Powder | 1 tbsp |
Coriander Powder | 1 tbsp |
Green Moong Dal | 1 cup |
Coriander leaves | 2 tbsp |
Salt | To taste |
Instructions:
- In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add cumin seeds.
- Then add garlic and onion and sauté till onions turns to golden color
- Then add Turmeric powder, Chili powder, Cumin powder, Coriander powder and salt.
- Sauté till these masala turns aromatic.
- Then add tomatoes and cook till tomatoes turns soft and mushy.
- Wash green moong dal and add it to the cooker.
- Pour 1 to 1½ cup of water and close the cooker.
- Leave for 6 to 8 whistles.
- Allow it to cool and then garnish with the chopped coriander leaves.
- Green moong dal is ready.
